Lately I've had a very distinct that feeling that God is moving.
I'm not quite sure what He's doing, but He surely is moving. I've felt like He's placed folks in my path in such a way that I 1,000% couldn't have orchestrated myself. He's closed doors and opened others. In a very calculated way, He's moving. I just can't quite see the summation of the parts yet. With friendships, business relationships - it's as if He's waiting to pour something over me, but delicately letting the surprises slowly expose themselves over time.
It's been an interesting season. A really fun, hopeful, delightful one.
Which reminds me that God really is a passive income God. (Y'all know I love a good business reference.) He's working behind the scenes, compounding "life interest" while I'm focused on other things. When I see His hand on me throughout my life, I can see that He has moved and calculated when I wasn't paying attention.
He works for me even when I'm not aware. When I'm sleeping. When I'm eating. When I'm complaining about something silly.
And He's working for you too.
Intellectually we may know this. But even so, we feel the promptings of our flesh to really muddle it all up. We like control because we think we know best. My best friend Robyn and I were chatting yesterday about this topic. (Did I mention that she's the best? Because she is and you definitely need to check out her site.)
She eloquently and poignantly spoke truth as she always does and said, "Jena, did you ever notice that the things that were so good that came into your life never birthed from you white-knuckling it. Look at where you've worked. Look at how you left New York. Look at how relationships plopped into your lap. You really had nothing to do with them."
Despite my striving, God has been and continues to move and love me fiercely and renew all things. And quite frankly, I have had zero to do with it. Let's be real, when it comes down to it, I'm really not that gifted at manipulating life to go my own way.
Now, that's not to say we are supposed to be completely laissez-faire in our lives. I believe that we need to keep throwing seeds out there and let God do the busy and hard work of growing those seeds. Sitting at home waiting for things to happen to you is not going to bode well - we need to be in tandem with God and His plans.
So, is God a behind-the-scenes type of God? Yes.
Well, is He an in the forefront miracle-working God? Also, yes.
He's both. At the right time - and His timing only - all of the work He's doing for you behind closed doors will creep to the surface. You see, that's what happens with passive income. It doesn't happen overnight and BOOM! you're making money. Nope. It comes after a lot of work that isn't visible by everyone. (I'm in the midst of that and I know how tough it can be.) That's kinda how God works for us. He's laying the groundwork, preparing for the fruit that is yet to come.
Be comforted. He's for you. And He's working for you.
Being transparent, I'm preaching to myself as much as I'm preaching to you, friend. We're in this together.
